He opened his eyes to see his father along with two other elves sitting in his room, talking quietly; too quietly for him to make out what was being said. He sat up slowly and rubbed his eyes as he looked across the room; he could see two swords leaned against the wall near the door. He also noticed that the two men were from the magistrate. At that moment his father turned to face him and gave a slight smile as he spoke, “Son, your mother is waiting to see you. Go meet her in the kitchen so I can finish talking with these men, okay?”
